Harvest Preparatory School - Head of School (2026-2027)

TITLE: HEAD OF SCHOOL (Grades K-12)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ohio Administrative License & Master’s Degree or higher in education, administration, or related field (Doctorate preferred).

School Board

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Head of School serves as the spiritual, academic, and administrative leader of Harvest Preparatory School. This role is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the school, including strategic planning, faculty and staff development, curriculum oversight, financial stewardship, enrollment growth, and community engagement. All responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner that upholds biblical principles and advances the mission of the school and supports the ministry of World Harvest Church.
ABOUT US:
Harvest Preparatory School is the K-12 educational division of World Harvest Church. The school serves approximately 800 students in grades K-12 and is located on a 58-acre campus on the Southeast side of Columbus, in Canal Winchester, Ohio. The school is divided into three divisions: Lower School (Kindergarten-Grade 5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), and Upper School (Grades 9-12). The school is a chartered non-public private school and meets or exceeds all expectations established by the Ohio Department of Education. Since 1986, the school has maintained membership status with the Association of Christian Schools International.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as the spiritual leader of the school, modeling and cultivating a Christ-centered culture.
Ensure that biblical truth and a Christian worldview are integrated throughout all school programs and policies.
Promote and protect the mission, vision, and core values of the school in all areas of leadership and decision-making.
Oversee development and implementation of curriculum that meets high academic standards and reflects biblical integration.
Supervise, evaluate, and support principals, faculty, and staff to promote instructional excellence.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and data-informed instruction.
Oversee daily operations including budgeting, facilities, and compliance with applicable laws and accreditation standards.
Partner with the finance team to ensure financial sustainability, transparency, and stewardship.
Lead the strategic planning process to support short- and long-term goals for school growth and improvement.
Oversee admissions and retention strategies to grow and sustain enrollment.
Engage with donors, churches, alumni, and community partners to advance the school’s mission and fundraising goals.
Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the school in the community.
Recruit, develop, and retain high-quality Christian educators and administrators.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment that reflects the love of Christ.
Provide spiritual encouragement and professional growth opportunities for faculty and staff.

Harvest Preparatory School - Bus Driver / Special School Events

World Harvest Church, a global ministry in Central Ohio, has an exciting opportunity for experienced bus drivers that desire to use their talent to impact the world. World Harvest Church is one of today’s most influential churches, led by statesman, humanitarian and New York Times best–selling author, Pastor Rod Parsley. This ministry with its world–wide platform is affecting every strata of society spiritually, educationally, economically and culturally through the expanse of the Breakthrough television program which airs 24 hours a day/ 7days a week on major TV stations and affiliates. The Bus Driver opening is an as needed part–time casual position. The ideal candidate must have a successful and verifiable work history of at least 2–3 years in the area of transportation.

Harvest Preparatory School - Substitute Teachers

Harvest Preparatory School one of Central Ohio’s premier, private, Christian centered schools, located in Canal Winchester, Ohio has Substitute Teacher openings. Harvest Preparatory School provides distinctive, private education, with a Christian world-view focus, to the Columbus area. With a diverse student body, Harvest Prep comprises of over 500 plus students, grades Pre-K through 12 that are developed academically, spiritually, morally, socially and physically through the power of God and our highly trained faculty and staff.

Substitute Teacher Responsibilities

Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others and develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity, and consideration.
Demonstrate excellent teaching skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, administrative skills, problem-solving skills, and advanced knowledge of various teaching materials.
In the absence of the regular classroom teacher to help students to learn subject matter and/or skills that are required for scheduled lessons and to provide meaningful instruction for assigned classrooms.
Carries out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher and has the ability to provide meaningful learning in the absence of a lesson plan.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Indicates to students at beginning of class the basic expectations for behavior in the class in accordance with school policies.
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or projects assigned.
Reports to school office at beginning of school day to pick up required materials/schedule of classes and at the end of the school day to return materials. Follows sign out procedures as prescribed by the principal.
Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting lesson objectives.
Maintains a neat, orderly and safe classroom.
Takes attendance in accordance with school procedures.
Insures that the students are never left unattended in the classroom.
May perform duties usually required of absent teacher such as lunchroom duty, hall monitoring, etc.
Knows emergency evacuation routes for the classrooms assigned.
Knows procedures for referring students who are disciplinary problems.
Knows school procedures and regulations and consistently follows HPS policies.

Primary Requirements

Performs other related duties as directed.
Two or more years of teaching experience, and be highly knowledgeable about teaching students about content and skills in the applicable subject area.
Must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
Hold a current teacher license in the State of Ohio and or be eligible to hold a teaching certificate/Non-tax certificate issued by the Ohio Department of Education.
